Here is a summary of the duties and ethical behavior in accordance with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors for journal editors, reviewers, and authors.

1. Journal Editors
1.1 Publishing Decisions
Editors should evaluate manuscripts based on their scientific content without discrimination on grounds of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, nationality, etc.
1.2 Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, and potential publishers.
1.3 Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

2. Reviewers
2.1 Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the manuscript.
2.2 Confidentiality
All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
2.3 Standards of Objectivity
Review must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
2.4 Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation.

3. Authors
3.1 Reporting Standards
Authors should present an accurate report of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance.
3.2 Data Access and Retention
Authors are asked to provide the raw data in connection with a manuscript for editorial review, when possible.
3.3 Originality and Plagiarism
Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
3.4 Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal.
